Well, some of you might be wondering why Jay Zuck’s Sketch of the Day has been on hiatus lately. I thought I owed some sort of explanation to those who have been following this humble website chronicling the exploration of my art.
There’s the long answer and short one and I guess I’ll start with the short. Immediately after a hectic week of finals at school and just a day removed from that artistic mayhem, I had knee surgery which has kinda put me out of commission. With everything that’s been going on, I’ve been trying to recover and just taking the time to recharge those artistic batteries. I hope I haven’t disappointed too many people with this break or maybe I do. It’s nice to be missed ; )
I think it will probably start off slow until we get that snow ball rollin’ around here, but do me an honor and yourself a favor by SUBSCRIBING so you have the coveted inside scoop on when I’m laying stuff down.
If you have missed me though, then you’re in luck….
Hope you are feeling better after surgery. Will be looking forward to more art when your batteries are charged back up!
take care
Hoping that you recover soon. Don’t be discouraged.
Hey my friend, I wondered what had happened to you! I am SO sorry to hear that you even had to have knee surgery. That IS a bummer. Of course you are missed!
) But it is also important you take all the time you need to recover. You knees are essential. Rest, eat, sleep, dream, draw only if inspired. And we will be here when you are ready. Hugs, Robin.
Sorry to hear about your surgery. YES, you have been missed and we’ll still be here when you return. So take care of yourself. Looking forward to your return.
Jay – yikes! Surgery in any form is no fun, but when it leaves you sitting like that, It makes one stir crazy! Sorry you are down and out temporarily! Think of it as time to re-charge the mental batteries, read something you wouldn’t normally, google your friends and see what they are up too.. google something you normally wouldn’t.. google a naughty word!
Miss your drawings – get a small sketch book, close your eyes and see what ya come up with!
knee surgery? You draw with your knee? Come on dude, there are those of us out here that need to have your drawings on a daily basis so get back to work. When I had my shoulder operations (all 4) I brought my PC and mobile phone to the hospital because my employer didn’t like sick days.
You know what? Neither do I!
Get off your butt, get your equipment and get to work.
Smile or I’ll break the other one.
Jay,
Did you lose your brush, pencil or crayon? Where have you been? I wish you a speedy recovery and back to those awesome sketches. Don’t leave me hanging, I need a good art blog for the Feeding Frenzy…
Hey Jay,
Sometimes the inspirado leaves us, and that’s OK. But if there’s one thing I know about you it’s that you’re going to be drawing no matter what! So I know there will be new material coming up here, it’s just a matter of when
I think the trick is not to get discouraged just cause you haven’t updated in a while. You’ve got a great thing going here, gone from nothing, to something!
I look forward to your return, and if you want any advice, feel free to ask.
- Wakcher
Get better, and hopefully we’ll see you back again!
Sorry to hear that. Hope you’re feeling better now. And thank you for this explanation, I started to think you gave up! Wish you recover and draw very soon.
We miss your artwork! Feel better soon. : )
I wish you the best of luck on a speedy recovery.
Get Well Soon Jason!
Listen .. we all need time to recharge those artistic batteries … but, if you are having difficulties, crack open that cast on your knee, scan all of the many well wishes there must be there at the moment, run it through some fractal or photoshop program and let’s go!
(or not)
hope you feel better. take care of yourself, and things will begin to flow again.
Waiting eagerly for your artistic inspiration to return!

That’s what I think of your work. That’s what I think of your heart and soul. It’s you!

Mom
I expect you to be back under center for the Patriots at the start of the season.
I’ve really missed you and I should add that I’ve especially enjoyed the Hunter Thompson series. But all your work is great! Rest and enjoy yourself as much as possible because that’s good for healing. Drink lots of water. In other words, get well quick because I look forward to your next project every time.
I’m missing your art!! Hope to see some more soon!
I miss my sketch of the day – you’re a great artist Jason – always worth the wait. We’ll be watching
Sadly surgery is a necessary evil at times. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
I signed up for your feed. I was looking for the receive updates by email option, but didn’t find it. Feedburner does offer that option, you just need to enable it.
I looked at your previous post, sweet sketch…will have to forward this to my son.
Hey there Jay,
Hope you start feeling better soon. Since the beginning of JZSOTD, I’ve been hooked, and I can’t wait to see some new work, once those creative juices get to flowing again!
Hey Zuck. I heard you had a surgery. I hope you have a speedy recovery. You have to keep your wicked pace of sketches up. I know things can be tough but they do turn around. I don’t just say that I believe it I have no other choice. My life is mess right now and I have believe in a better day and so do you cheers!
