@Sire: I want to work in feature animation doing concept art, character design, and visual development, but illustrating a book one day would be awesome too.

@Daz: I like the raw stuff too... always have, but polish is what commercial folks are looking for so obviously that was an important skill to develop. There is an energy of line which sometimes is very hard to capture in digital painting. I'll keep taking a crack at it though.

weirdly, I find the raw sketches more exciting than the polished digital works. I think that there is a certain level of realism that once reached then starts to reduce the activity in the brain. I love you man, just putting that out there.

hey Jason, thanks for commenting on my photo blogs. Man, you really are a talented bloke aren't you? How have you planned to use this talent of yours. While you could easily do full on art work, I was wondering if perhaps you were aiming to become a book illustrator?

Jay,
I love your style. I really like that Dorothy/Scarecrow one. But the sketches look awesome too, when I saw this I immediately wanted to see how they'd look in animated form. Haven't seen a lot of that style in animation. Might be cool.

Keep up the great work.

Wow, that's some quality stuff! I love the one with the drunk guy spilling his drink. You're really creative; my mind just doesn't work like this, which, I guess, is why I write! lol

@Heather: Thanks for your kind words and it has been a pleasure to note your 4 entries (The 3 you mentioned plus I noticed you tweeted the post). I am really looking forward to giving away some cool art.

@Michael: I am glad that I have helped reignite your creative process. To think I could have that kind of impact humbles me. I'll count your comment and RSS subscription (even though it was in the past) as two entries. I know the updates have been a little sparser, but I hope I have made up for it in quality. The last semester of art school was crazy and while other semesters focused primarily on creating new work, I spent a lot of the time collecting my old work into a portfolio. Bottom-line, look forward to some great new art in the new year.

@Wakcher: I'm hitting the ground running. There are already some job offers out there which I am pursuing.

@D. Bethel: You guys continue to produce an exceptional webcomic that it was a pleasure to be apart of. I really appreciated the opportunity and I know success is out there for all of us to realize.

@Robin: My bro's told me a lot about your appreciation of my work and it looks like your digg magic has paid some dividends. Also, expect some high quality signed prints to be on sale soon to punch up that little gallery of my work you have going.

@Amit: I remember when I was getting going whether people would enjoy seeing the trenches of the creative process. I got a lot of good feedback and haven't looked back. Your high praise put a smile on my face and y'all watch how much ass I'm going to be kicking in the next year. It's going to be a hell of a ride for all of us.

@Anoroc: We're going to have to see how the work situation evolves and what if anything they allow me to post. Regardless, I will always be working hard on creating new art of all different varieties and I will share as much and as often as I can. Keep your eye out my friend.

Congrats on year 1, and graduation! I'm going to be selfish here and hope to see more frequents posts! :P

I've been a subscriber since JZSOTD's conception, (or close to it). Your artwork is inspiring -- It is of a quality that I would love to be able to achieve. The giveaway you are offering is more than generous. I have a few of your pieces in mind that I would freaking LOVE to hang on my wall. In the future, I would hope to see your work available for print!
