The Serpent Elder

I banged this out the other night.  It started as a quick sketch that I threw into the computer to see what I could do with it.  A little texture, a little ambient lighting, and a moon pearing through the sandy sky and voila we have our ancient serpent.  Just a little something, something for y’all to enjoy today.

The Barge of the Dead

A dark entity traverses a cold inhospitable universe in search of souls.  The more souls it collects the more the entity evolves.  Some call it a spaceship and yet others refer to it as an angel of death.  In fact, it is both live and dead: organic and mechanical.

I know some of you Trekkies out there are jumping up and down saying, but the Barge of the Dead is the vessel which takes Klingons to Gre’thor as discussed in the third episode of the sixth season of Star Trek: Voyager.  I cannot speak to such trivialities.  What I can tell you, is that If your journery should have the misfortune of crossing paths with the Barge of the Dead, it is time to evaluate whether you believe in a god and if so pray to it.

Below witness the vessel’s origins of black ink……just a sketch, I think not.

I am Away

I am Away

You might be wondering how I can be away and be typing this at the same time.  Well, really just my sketch is away today as I have been busy slaving away on the Eben 07 dream sequence.   Maybe THIS is all a dream too.

Just a brief word on today’s “sketch” of the day.   The digital art was essentially me messing around with fonts and textures in Photoshop to generate some interesting typography.  That was the goal at any rate.

Anyway, go “AWAY” already and read Part 1 of 4 if you haven’t already.  Buckle up ladies and gentlemen for my making of Eben 07 series is soon to follow.

Into the Beyond

Into the Beyond

I have been in Canada for the last week or so and my brother who helps to update my site was in Las Vegas ushering in the New Year.

The new year is a time when we all look into beyond.  We assess where we are and where we would like to go.  The world is filled with infinite potential and possibilities and I hope in this New Year all of you achieve your wildest hopes and dreams.  I submit this digital  creation of mine as we all look into the great beyond of the New Year of 2009.  Happy New Years everybody!
