“Do not be afraid to go out on a limb … That’s where the fruit is.” ~ Anonymous Saying
I remember growing up and always being in the process of building a fort or treehouse. We never seemed to finish them and before you knew it we were on to the next one.
The time I spent as a child just going where ever my imagination went I think in many ways prepared me to be an artist. I have always tried to stay true to that spirit of exploration reaching for the tree tops and just building, building, building. I doubt very much I will ever be done and the next one is always coming to.

awesome! I totally want to live there!
Jay – this is awesome, I love it, the moment your site opened up, the floodgates of childhood memories raced in. I love being able to tap into those from time to time. We didn’t have a tree house, but a fort, and my damn brother locked me in it.. but we look back and laugh at it now.
I love the effect of it being way up in the clouds, it’s just got a whirlwindy effect that makes your imagination flow! A secret hide out, somewhere we could call our own!
I just LOVE this drawing. It is utterly magical. It would be so great in a kids book. I love the little person standing on the roof, and even the shape of the house and tree. This makes me dream and wish I lived there. I mean, really, wouldn’t you LOVE to live in a place like that?!!

You know, Jay, you are so extremely talented and more amazing is that you are very diverse in your talent, capable of doing a whole range of styles and emotions. I’ve seen you do pieces that were absolutely top of the line ‘fine art’, could have hung them in any gallery and then seen you do the most wild, bizarre and deliciously fun pieces. AND then seen you draw people that were highly complex in emotion.
You are truly gifted. I believe in your lifetime as long as you never give up you will make quite a name for yourself. So I cheer you on!!

thats w ell cool! would love to go up there and hide for a few hours!
I feel stuck out on the limb without even fruit in view. At least I should have a treehouse that cool. More updates please Jay. I am back in class and need the interesting materials!
Hey Jay,
Thanks for the comment on my blog.
You have some awesome sketches on this site. I especially like this treehouse, it looks epic.
Treehouse — not only it’s my present WP template, but it reminds me an article I wrote for a very long time ago, with the exact same title. We all have a treehouse no matter in real life or an imaginary one. I love how you describe it as part of chasing your dream as an artist. It’s true, we’ll just keep moving forward.. there’s no end to creativity and improvements. We just keep building..
